Proofing – what are the options/requirements for new or re-orders?
There are three proofing mechanisms, one or more of which are required for most orders. At the customer’s discretion, very recent orders (90 days), or continually repetitive orders, may not require proof approval. However, we strongly encourage, and in most cases require, some form of proof approval.
Pre-Production Proof – Required for orders of 24 units or more.This is a full sample of the intended end result. Material, colors, adornment, and design are approved. If approved, the pre-production proof will count at ‘1’ of the total order quantity.
Sew-out or sewn swatch - Minimal requirement for all new or altered-art embroidered orders. Fabric is the same color and weight as intended product; art is size and color correct. Sew-outs are not billed.
Email Proof – Required for any custom order, or re-order, up to 24 units. Email proofs are not billed, and will contain one of the following:
- A print out of the digitized art file – sized to fit on one page – color correct.
- A picture of the product as last manufactured, including embroidery.
Table drapes, banners or cloths: Large format embroidery negates a cost effective ability to create a sew-out or sewn-swatch. Large format embroidery is proofed via a pre-production proof or email. If the order is for a single unit and a pre-production proof is required, if approved, the proof will in effect complete the project. If not approved, we will arrange for return and repeat the process with corrections desired.
