200d / 210d Color Options

200d / 210d Fabric

200d nylon repeats the evolution of 400d nylon; first made in the US – set quality standards worldwide – became a mainstay in outdoor consumer and military goods. Its lighter weight and superior strength offered perfect accompaniment as pocketing, lining and sleeving for higher shell weight products such as backpacks, briefcases, and of course, chill-n-go® professional wine bags.

As with 420d, 210d was initially woven in Asia and imported as a competing product. Again, initial quality was suspect, but over the years 210d fabric has vastly improved and become almost synonymous with 200d.

Both of these weights are used extensively through-out the chill-n-go® product line-up. Its strength, durability, and importantly, its wash-ability, add inherent quality and functionality while reducing weight.

400d / 420d Color Options

400d / 420d Fabric

Much as is the case with 1,000d, the original 400d nylons woven in the US set the standard for rugged, durable, mid-weight nylon. Its light weight and extreme strength offered tremendous applicability in both outdoor consumer and military uses. Its derived nickname of ‘pack cloth’ is an excellent overall summation.

420d nylon fabrics were introduced from Asia as a competing alternative to domestic 400d. In the beginning, the quality of these fabrics was suspect. Over the last two decades economic and technical advances have fostered improving quality, and today, carefully selected 420d nylons compare very favorably. In fact, 400d nylons are now being woven in Asia – very little, if any, is currently woven in the US.

600d Color Options

600d Fabric

To our knowledge, 600d polyester was never woven in the US. As Asian economies opened and expanded, 600d polyester became an extremely lower cost alternative to 1,000 denier. An analogy might be Wal-Mart to Nordstrom’s.

The original weave of these fabrics was not ‘tight’. Their answer was the application of a heavy PCV backing that effectively ‘glued’ the strands in place, but also added moisture resistance – and unfortunately, considerable weight. In fact, 600d is often heavier than 1,000d – only because of the heavy PVC backing. In addition, some liberties were taken to effectively reduce the raw cost, and in our view, reduce the quality, by substituting the weight of the weft or fill; i.e., instead of 600d warp and fill, they used 600d warp and 300d fill (weft). Further, this fact was obscured and those fabrics retained the ‘name’ of 600d.

Chill-n-go, Inc. uses 600 x 600 denier polyester fabrics. These fabrics are very carefully selected with a keen eye to true weight, backing substance and application, weave tightness and consistency, and fabric performance over time. We guarantee it.

1000d Color Options

1000d Fabric

The original 1,000 denier DuPont Cordura nylon, developed decades ago, set the world standards for quality nylon fabric in this weight range. Although no longer a DuPont product, US made Cordura nylon remains the quality leader, world standard, and is the primary shell fabric used in chill-n-go® 1,000d products. Guaranteed for life.

Solid Cotton Color Options

Solid Cotton Fabric

Solid colored 100% cotton fabrics are available in varying weights with a wide range of colors in lighter weights, diminishing to just one or two colors in the heaviest weights. Woven cottons ranging in weight from 10 oz. to 22 oz. are used in chill-n-go® products. Cotton fabrics offer a natural look with a distinctive hand. The heaviest cottons are used in items such a boat or sail bags; the lighter weights used as accent, overlay, or strap/handle components.

Cotton Print Options

Cotton Print Fabric

Cotton print fabrics are available in an ever changing array of colors and patterns. We select cotton prints based on fabric weight/strength, theme or aesthetic appeal and its potential life span (how long the fabric will be in production). Cotton prints provide the shell fabric for many low-capacity consumer wine bags and totes, as well as an unusual lining fabric in certain nylon, poly, or solid cotton shelled products.

Other cotton and/or polyester fabrics are used in a variety of applications. These might include cotton or polyester velvets for Gift Bottle Sacks or presentation piece linings; cotton ‘Trend’ fabrics with unusual weave patterns; continuous loop fabrics allowing unlimited divider arrangements; or rich hemp fabrics for the ultimate in ‘natural.

All chill-n-go® fabrics are selected based on a host of qualifications; but perhaps ‘functional durability’ is the overriding goal. While we understand that aesthetic appeal will vary by person; we know equally that failure of function and durability has no personal variance – it is simply not acceptable.

Leather Options

chill-n-go, Inc. selects the finest leathers originating in Italy, and in rare cases, South America. Our long standing relationship with this supplier affords a consistent and high quality product year-in and year-out. From unique altered grains, to stressed/relax, to full grain with waxed richness; these leathers are selected to not only look amazing, but to work as well as they look.

Laguna Leather

Laguna is a lightly corrected, top grain leather that displays a very distressed appearance. This leather is lightly waxed with a moderately firm hand and hence works extremely well with ‘unstructured’ bag shells such as the Salesperson’s style of bags.

Cowboy Leather

Cowboy is a full grain, wax impregnated, solid uniform-colored leather. The wax impregnation provides a very slight ‘pull-up’ effect, or western distress look, but the leather remains constant in color and gloss finish throughout the hide. Cowboy’s moderately soft hand works on both structured and non-structured

Cartier Leather

Cartier is an optimal combination of light wax/oil impregnation giving it a glossy finish, and an impregnation that yields a moderate distress appearance and pull-up effect. While Cartier has a soft hand, the tanning provides some body making this leather an excellent choice for non-structured, as well as structured, bags.

Capri Leather

Capri is full grain, semi-corrected, pigmented leather. This leather has a soft hand and slightly waxy feel, but it’s thickness makes it an excellent non-structured bag candidate. This leather has a matte or a more ‘natural’ appearance – commonly referred to in appearance as ‘football’ leather. Available in a broader array of ‘primary’ colors.

Bronco Color Options

Bronco Fabric

Our Bronco fabric is an 85/15 poly/cotton blend that is woven specifically for the table linen industry. The fabric is treated to repel moisture absorption and has a long ‘bead length’ allowing above normal time for attention to spills. Roll widths yield a nominal 56” finished width.

Ballastic Color Options

Ballastic Fabric

Our ballistic fabric is 1,680 denier nylon. This fabric is strong, resilient and durable - we stand behind it for as long a you own it. The strands of this fabric are large in diameter. This creates a very different, more up-scale visual impression when compared to the more common 600 and 1,000 denier fabrics. While there are lots of ballistic nylons in varying weights on the market - ours is carefully selected for its 'hand' characteristics; its suppleness, pliability, how it 'feels' in the hand and 'works' on the embroidery and sewing machines. This is the toughest and longest-lasting fabric we use in manufacturing chill-go products.
